The
second single from Weird Shapes is an intriguing, oddball and
generally pleasing effort. Clouds mixes ethereal
guitar and soaring vocals with stop-start rhythms that is oddly
effective – the sort of thing you could imagine going down
a storm with summer festival crowds.
Help Me To Land is a rather more minimalist slice
of alt. rock - stripped back to the point of silence in parts,
it’s a less immediate number than the A side, but probably
the more impressive.
In the end, this leaves you wanting more – always a good
sign. Hopefully an album is on the way… and one that is
as nicely packaged as the CD edition of this release.
