TIM
AND ERIC'S BILLION DOLLAR MOVIE
DVD.
Momentum
It
may be that one should be familiar with the concept of Tim and
Eric prior to sitting through this nonsense, the comedy duo best
known for Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!
on Adult Swim. Regardless, their Billion Dollar Movie
is no selling point, and seeking them out is not recommended if
you prefer your comedy courtesy of wit as opposed to sheer childishness.
A very quick plot summary in the sheerest of nutshells: Tim and
Eric (playing themselves) have been given $1bn to make a movie
by the Schlaaang Corporation. Messing this up spectacularly, they
take on the job of renovating the derelict S'Wallow Valley Mall
in hope of making the cash back, whilst the Schlaaang group pursue.
There
is juvenile, incredulous laughter to be had here, and it is clear
that a certain level of badness is Billion Dollar Movie's
intention, to a point. However when the edit leaves every painful
joke to be stretched out beyond all reasonable length, it fast
becomes unbearable, some inconsistency in this comedy timing implying
that perhaps the end result is worse than projected. Indeed Will
Ferrell is strangely subdued, while John C. Reilly's dull eyes
do not match the slightly deranged character he has to play, saying
an awful lot about how excruciating a filmmaking experience this
likely was.
