DVD. Your Choice
 Film
titles don't come much more no-nonsense than this, and this collection
of scenes from Daisy Rock certainly lives up to the blunt billing.
Daisy Rock is one of Britain's biggest porn stars and, at 35,
more mature, experienced and downright insatiable than most. And
while British porn isn't always something that the discerning
viewer will choose to watch – far too much prosaic, low
rent crap is made in this country, quite frankly – this
3 hour plus collection offers a solid variety of styles, the one
connecting factor being Miss Rock herself.
The DVD features six unconnected scenes (plus a couple of bonus
clips), ranging from pseudo-documentary reality to more narratively
constructed moments. The former are the best, as they have a surprising
freshness and honesty to them. Fan Fuck,
for instance, has the 18 year old winner of a website competition
invited to live the dream by getting it on with Daisy. It's a
scene with a curious charm, at least early on, as the gawky fan
eagerly chats before getting stuck in. It feels pretty real, and
is as much about the personal interaction as it is the sex (which,
notably, takes place with a condom being worn).
Equally raw is Ruined By Steve Holmes,
with Daisy hooking up with the German porn stud at the Venus erotic
show. This hotel room scene is pretty intense stuff, and filmed
in an all-too-real haphazard manner (the event's cameraman getting
the lion's share of the best shots, and Daisy's camcorder-holding
buddy having to grab what he can). The fact that a lot of the
more graphic close-up shots you'd expect are missing or compromised
is actually quite refreshing.
 The
more obviously constructed scenes include Daisy and Sara Jay enjoying
a remarkably cute and compliant slave girl in Asian
Teen Fuck Toy, Tabitha Richards and Richard Mann
joining her at the Xbiz conference in My Biggest Ever
Black Cock and super cute Satine Spark auditioning
as Daisy's Office Junior. These are
all solidly shot, rather hot little vignettes with an emphasis
on the older Rock dominating the younger female partners. Only
Manhunt doesn't work – it tries
to set itself up as some fake-Grindhouse type effort, but does
so rather sloppily and soon abandons all pretensions for a vigorous
but uninspired coupling with Johnny Cockfill, who has the bad
habit of gurning like an ape while trying to look intense. No
wonder he ended up as a Big Brother contestant.
The two bonus scenes appeal to specific fetishes – Smoking
and Dirty Talk is self-explanatory, and depending
on your tastes, you'll either be wildly excited or vaguely nauseated
by it. Dirty Pissing Pornstars sees
Daisy and rude looking Megan Coxxx sharing a shower and urinating
– but not on each other, you'll be relieved or saddened
to hear. Why these two scenes are not part of the main body of
the DVD is anyone's guess, especially as they are listed as equally
a part of the disc on the back cover.
How much you enjoy this will, of course, depend on how much you
like Daisy Rock. This is the first time I've seen her in action,
and I was pretty impressed – she has a better presence and
more convincing sexuality than a lot of the British performers
I've seen, and doesn't make me cringe when talking dirty (and
how!) in an English accent – something that usually feels
dreadfully unconvincing. Corset fans might be saddened to hear
that the cover image is not representative on any scene in the
film, but that aside, this is a varied and impressive collection
of scenes that deliver exactly what the title promises.
