Formerly
Grimm Up North, now seemingly rebranded officially as
Grimmfest, Manchester’s annual horror extravaganza
has announced the line-up for the 2012 event, taking
place October 4th – 7th.
The opening gala sees a pair of London-based movies
in the form of Comedown (a ‘hoodie
horror’ from the director of Kidulthood
– oh dear) and – ahem – Cockneys
vs Zombies, alongside a late screening of Some
Guy Who Kills People.
Elsewhere on the bill is the new Cabal Cut edit of Nightbreed,
House Hunting, Wake Up and
Die, Attack of the Werewolves,
Cursed Bastards,
Twisted, Below Zero,
Stitches, Rites of Spring,
Hate Crime, The Eschatrilogy
and Him Indoors, plus retro screenings
of Basket Case and Hammer’s restored
version of The Devil Rides Out. There
is also a preview night on the 3rd at the Plaza Super
Cinema in Stockport, featuring American Mary
and Sinister. An impressive selection.
This year’s event takes place at the Dancehouse
Theatre, a step up from the rather unappealing multiplex
used last year, and guests will include Stitches
star Ross Noble, Pollyanna McIntosh of The Woman
fame and more.
Tickets are £60 for a full pass. More information
