The Eagle was the sort of comic much loved of middle aged, middle class tossers who found American comics far too vulgar. This is the first annual from 1951. It's awful.

The comic was revived in 1982 - Dan Dare having made an abortive comback in 2000AD back in 1977 - with gimmicky photo-stories. It was still awful.
