COFFIN NAILS - LET'S WRECK: THE GRAVEST HITS
(Anagram)

The Coffin Nails are one of the longest-lived - and indeed few surviving - Psychobilly bands to emerge from the Klub Foot scene in the 1980's, with their last 'proper' album appearing as recently as 2003. This retrospective compilation gathers together a mix of live and studio recordings from the past, and serves as a solid introduction to the band for any curious beginners.
With an ever-changing line-up fronted by singer Humungus, the band's music drifts from classic psychobilly to bluesy rock, and as with any compilation spanning several years, it's of variable quality. Some of the songs display a grubby sense of humour, as titles like She's a Moose and STD might suggest - but don't think this is simply crass comedy punk - the band surprisingly have a knack for good tunes and much of the humour is dark and twisted.
Quality stuff and worthy of a listen.
