Don’t let the misguided hype put you off though. Her debut EP is a polished, rather sweet collection of songs that have genuine charm and suggest that she has what it takes to be a genuine pop star.

This is a four-track collection of instantly catchy, melancholic pop ballads. How to Break a Heart is probably the stand out track, with a pumping synth beat and soaring chorus that takes the song into the indie pop arena. Back to You and How Do You Do are also infectiously hooky, with an almost country pop vibe lifting them out of the ordinary.

With Bond’s assured, confident vocals and emotive lyrics, this is a very impressive debut from someone who we should be hearing a lot more from.
