Translating as ‘The Pompous Trousers’, here’s folk music as tunreconstructed as it comes – sung in Gaelic, it’s real hand-on-the-ear stuff, with frantic fiddles and no-nonsense vocals. As such, it’s hardly likely to trouble the charts, or even have much crossover to fans of edgier stuff. But it might fit in well with your Wicker Man soundtrack album, and if you are a Scottish music traditionalist, this might have you dancing a jig (or whatever people do at folk clubs these days).
