ACTION

Action was Britain's most notorious comic in the 1970s - loved by kids, hated by parents, it's unrelentingly violent content finally saw the comic banned; revived later in a castrated version, it limped on for a few more issues, but in the end only lasted a year. However, it paved the way for 2000AD, which hid the ultraviolence with science fiction and black humour.
